| Description | Elected mayor in 1997 and re-elected in 2001, Medinger is finishing his second term. The buzz over whether he'll seek a third term has been on for months. But if he has decided, he's not saying.
The seven years have been a tumultuous journey in a time of considerable change in the city, with plant closings, new businesses, more diversity, fights and agreements with neighboring towns, and controversial issues topped by the Ten Commandments monument and Veterans Memorial Stadium issues.
