Description | With the cable television industry's biggest annual convention serving as a backdrop, a media group headed by former Vice President Al Gore announced Tuesday in New Orleans that it has purchased an international news cable network and plans to convert it to one that caters to young adults.
Gore said the move marked an official end to his career in politics, which unofficially ended 18 months ago when he decided not to challenge President Bush in the 2004 election.
