"November, 1981: In the closest gubernatorial election in New Jersey history, former Assembly Speaker Tom Kean defeated Congressman Jim Florio by a scant 1,797 votes out of more than 3.2 Million cast.
But in this version of revisionist history, Chief Justice of the New Jersey Supreme Court, Robert Wilentz, orders a recount of voting machines in four counties: Camden, Essex, Hudson and Middlesex. And Jim Florio defeats Tom Kean is an election that leaves Republicans complaining that the election was stolen from them."
