Description | This afternoon Republican Governor Tim Pawlenty responded to criticism over his Public Safety Commissioner Rich Stanek, announcing that Stanek is stepping down.
Stanek admitted in a deposition 12 years ago, that he had used racial slurs and told racist jokes. That drew criticism from a black state lawmaker, just as Stanek faced a potentially difficult confirmation process.
