Description | Senator's Wife, Cindy McCain has stroke
The Washington Times
Cindy McCain, wife of three-term U.S. Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., was hospitalized Monday in Phoenix after suffering a small stroke. In a statement issued by McCain's office Tuesday, the senator said his wife's condition was stable and that her physician, Dr. Robert Spetzler of the Barrow Neurological Institute, described her prognosis as "cautiously excellent." McCain, Spetzler said, had "a small bleed in her brain," which may have resulted from a spike of high blood pressure and, although her speech is "mildly affected," she is "otherwise intact." McCain said he expected that his wife would be released from St. Joseph's Hospital in the next few days, pending the results of ongoing tests. |
