Description | A self-described “Dirty Dozen” conservative lawmakers in the House are coalescing around a plan to block budget-busting spending bills by crossing the aisle on floor-rule votes.
Frustrated by their inability to rein in spending, the dozen believe they can get their way by voting with the Democrats to defeat the rules that allow for debate on the measures in question.
The GOP conservatives were spurred to action by what they say was a dare by their leadership who advanced the budget resolution last month without enforcement and reform measures that many conservatives demanded. |
