Second defection rocks Scottish Tories

Description | The Conservatives' problems north of the border threatened to become a full-blown crisis today as a second Tory MSP defected to join the Scottish People's Alliance (SPA).
With just four weeks to go to the elections for the Scottish parliament, Lyndsay McIntosh announced she was leaving to join the new libertarian rightwing party north of the border - which only officially inaugurated itself last month.
Yesterday the Scottish conservative party leader, David McLetchie, had dismissed the defection of Keith Harding as just a "minor distraction".
But today he was facing a major implosion of the faltering Conservative party north of the border, who are fighting to retain their 19 (now 17) seats at Holyrood
