Al Sharpton says Black leaders who favored the losing effort of former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean over his Democratic presidential campaign have nothing to show for their misplaced allegiance. "Supposing they had gone with me, it would have strengthened our hand," Sharpton says. "They bet on a guy that lost outright, which means they delivered us to nothing. They delivered us to a pot of gold that wasn’t gold. I’m not bitter. I’m disappointed. I hate to say it, but some people, in my judgment, cut off their own noses to spite their face,” Sharpton says. “They tried to dilute me, but they’ve eliminated their own impact in this election. And I think that’s sad." |
