| Description | The Metropolitan Regional Council of Philadelphia & Vicinity was originally chartered on June 22, 1898 by the United Brotherhood of Carpenters. At that time, it was formed by the first Carpenter Local Unions organized in Philadelphia: Local Union 8, chartered in 1881 and Local Union 122, chartered in 1886. Our Council is now the parent body and the Headquarters for all our 18 Locals with a geographical jurisdiction of 8 counties in the Southeastern section of the State of Pennsylvania, the entire state of Delaware, and the Eastern Shore of Maryland. |
