| Description | The Populist Party of Maryland was formed in 2004 by citizens concerned about the cost of the war in Iraq on our families, our state and our nation. The financial impact of the war has been devastating, robbing the funds desperately needed for under-funded education, libraries, hospitals, public transportation, environmental cleanup, affordable housing and other vital social needs at home. The Populists ran the only major anti-war candidate for president on the Maryland ballot in the last election. |
