| Description | This was a new riding in 1990, and has been PC since then. It's in southeast Manitoba and includes the City of Steinbach, as well as Niverville, Mitchell, Grunthal and Sarto. Many of the riding’s residents take pride in their religious heritage.
The population in 2001 was 21,830. The average family income was $52,262, with an unemployment rate of 3.5 per cent. The major industry was manufacturing (15.3%) followed by agriculture (12.9%). |
