Description | This riding has existed since 1879. It's a central Winnipeg riding between the Red River/Seine River to the west and Panet to the east, and between Carriere Avenue/Windsor Park Golf Course/Elizabeth to the south and Tyne Avenue/Thomas Avenue to the north. It includes the St. Boniface Hospital.
The population in 2001 was 19,425. The average family income was $53,204, with an unemployment rate of 5.3 per cent. The main industry was health and social services (12.7%) followed by manufacturing (11.1%). |
