| Description | This southern riding, on the south shore of the Detroit River, is home to sizable Italian and Greek communities.
It includes the western half of the city of Windsor and, owing to its close proximity to the U.S. border, boasts a large number of residents who have immigrated from the U.S.
The largest employer in this heavily unionized riding is the automobile and auto parts manufacturing industry.
In the 1999 redistribution, the new riding of Windsor West combined 75 per cent of Windsor-Sandwich with 58 per cent of Windsor-Walkerville and five per cent of Windsor-Riverside.
There was no change in the 2007 redistribution. |
