| Description | This largely residential riding in north Toronto has a large Jewish community and a high proportion of new Canadians, with an immigrant population of nearly 50 per cent. It also boasts significant Chinese and Russian communities.
The borders for this riding run from Steeles Avenue in the north to Highway 401 in the south. In the west it begins at Bathurst Street and stretches to Victoria Park Avenue in the east.
This affluent riding also has the third largest seniors' population in Ontario. In the 1999 redistribution, the new riding of Willowdale consolidated 25 per cent of Oriole and 20 per cent of Wilson Heights with the bulk of the old Willowdale riding. In 2007, the riding incorporated a small section of the Don Valley East riding. |
