Description |
Torngat Mountains is the northernmost district in the province and it has the smallest population. It has the largest aboriginal population of any district. It includes much of Labrador’s north coast, including Nain, Hopedale, Makkovik and the Innu community of Natuashish. Thanks to redistribution, the territory stretches well into central Labrador, although the area has no permanent settlements. The Voisey's Bay mine site is in the district.
Population: 3,214
