This riding was created in 1999. The riding is in southern Winnipeg and runs from the CNR Main Line in the north to the Perimeter Highway in the south. The western boundary is McCreary Road/city limits. The eastern boundary is Waverley/Chancellor/CNR Line. Its neighbourhoods include Linden Woods, Richmond West and Whyte Ridge.
The population in 2001 was 23,370. The average family income in 2001 was $93,847, with an unemployment rate of 4.5 per cent. The main industry was health and social services (13%) followed by retail (12%).
