This Winnipeg riding has the Red River as the western and part of the southern boundary. The remainder of the southern boundary is Tyne Ave. Watt St./Dunbeath/Roch form the eastern boundary; Oakland Ave. is the northern boundary. This area in Elmwood is one of the earliest developed areas of the city.
The population in 2001 was 19,975. The unemployment rate was 7.8 per cent, with an average family income of $49,277. The major industry in the riding was manufacturing (18%) followed by health and social services (11%).
