This riding has existed since 1958. It’s in an older part of the north end of Winnipeg and its residents are mostly lower-income earners. The riding is bounded by Inkster Boulevard to the north, McKenzie to the east, the CPR Main Line to the south and Keewatin to the west.
The population in 2001 was 19,515. The average family income was $41,728 with an unemployment rate of eight per cent. The main industry in this riding was manufacturing (25%).
