This is an urban riding in the center of the city. The riding includes the downtown business district, the warehouse district north of the CP railway, and residential areas. Residential areas are among the oldest in the city. The North Central area, north of Dewdney Avenue and west of Albert Street is home to many low-income households. The crime rate in this area is the highest in the city. The Core Neighbourhood, west of Broad Street, also deals with issues of crime and poverty. Regina's Exhibition Park, Taylor Field, the police headquarters and the Pasqua Hospital are all located in this riding.
