The name is the same, but the 2006 redistribution made this a much bigger district after a sizeable portion of the former Park Corner-Oyster Bed district was added, expanding the eastern border.
The huge Cavendish Farms frozen french fry factory makes the riding the heart of potato processing country. However, while the land is good for growing, the region offers much more than potatoes.
There are several important tourist attractions in the area, including the Indian River Festival and Cabot Provincial Park. The urban centre, Kensington (pop. 1,385), is also working on making itself a tourist attraction with new developments around the old railway station.
This district also has a share in the shellfishery in nearby Malpeque Bay.
