This district stretches from the north shore down to Charlottetown, and back along the Hillsborough River, including Glenfinnan Island. Despite fine beaches and a significant portion of the P.E.I. National Park, there are few tourist facilities, with Dalvay at the northwest corner of the riding being one exception.
The district incorporates parts of the former Stanhope-East Royalty and Tracadie-Fort Augustus districts.
Tracadie Bay is the site of much aquaculture, but is also a destination for cottagers, causing some bickering over the use of the bay. This district is one of three on the new map that incorporates a large rural area with parts of Charlottetown.
