By constitutional agreement negotiated in August 2019 with an opposition alliance in the Sudan called the Forces of Freedom and Change (FFC), the Transitional Military Council dissolved itself on August 18, 2019, to be replaced by a Sovereignty Council [Link] The Sovereignty Council was later dissolved by Council leader Abdel Fattah al-Burhan on October 25, 2021, following a coup begun on October 24, 2021. Abdel Fattah al-Burhan reinstated the Council on November 21, 2021 with new membership and renamed it the Transitional Sovereignty Council, with al-Burhan its new Chairman.
