Description |
This is in fact the old Eastwood seat which simply changes its name to East Renfrewshire; the only mainland seat which remains unchanged under the redrawn boundaries. The new constituency, like the old Eastwood seat, covers the whole of the East Renfrewshire council area. Situated on the south western fringe of Glasgow, it is really a constituency of two contrasting parts. The constituency also boasts the first-ever conservation village in Scotland ' Eaglesham - which is near the site of the senior Nazi Rudolf Hess's crash landing on his supposed 'peace mission' to Britain in 1941.
