Description Major crossroad battled for by regional empires for millennia, Sindh Province is home to the Sindhi people, Indo-Aryans split and separated by the partition of India in 1947 into three religions, Muslim, Hindu and Sikh. Sindh is a derivative of 'Sindhu', the Pakistani name of for the Indus River, the Delta from which feeds the province's south-west.

The capital, Karāchi, is the country's largest city and the its capital until 1969.
