| Description |
Under-developed province of Pakistan populated primarily by the Baloch, ancient personages who mingled with the Sumerians and Akkadians in Mesopotamia in the 2nd millennium BC.
Baloch nationalism has uprooted this area since the last of the four princely states within it acceded to Pakistani control on March 27, 1948. Adjoining territories in Afghanistan and Iran where Baloch people reside have faced similar troubles.
The capital is Quetta.
