Airdrie-Chestermere sits along Calgary's east edge, reaches south to the Bow River, and stretches north to encompass the community of Airdrie. Other communities here include Chestermere and Crossfield. This riding consists of the eastern two-thirds of the pre-2004 redistribution riding of Airdrie-Rockyview.

The riding is tied for having the second-fewest low-income residents in Alberta - 3.8 per cent. Fewer than nine per cent of the residents are immigrants, while 57 per cent were born in-province.
