Description This largely rural riding is in B.C.'s Central Interior. It contains the cities of Quesnel and Williams Lake and the southwest part of Prince George (south and west of the Nechako River, the Cariboo Highway, Massey Drive, Patricia Boulevard and the Fraser River).

The 2001 census counted 111,486 residents. About seven per cent are aboriginal, many living on the riding's several reserves. Immigrants make up more than 10 per cent of the population.

The main employers are manufacturing and the service sector. Unemployment is 12.9 per cent and the average family income is $61,816.

This riding was formed in 2004 by combining nearly equal parts of Prince George-Bulkley Valley and Cariboo-Chilcotin.
