At the northern edge of the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area, the City of East Bethel is 48 square miles of lakes, wetlands, farms, and prairies. The City is traversed by Minnesota Highway 65, a four-lane expressway. Viking Boulevard is the City's main east-west highway.
The City also is home to the Sand Hill Crane Natural Area and Coon Lake, the largest lake in Anoka County.
