President of the Government

The Prime Minister of Spain, unofficially as of 2001 the President of the Government, is Chief Executive of the Kingdom's Administration. He oversees the Council of Ministers and the Council of State. The Prime Minister comes from the Parliament and its Congress of Deputies and the Senate, which is charged with legislation. The Heads of State are the King and Queen of Spain, symbolic of the state's pride and unity.

The new Prime Minister (invested on January 7, 2020) announced his official cabinet team on January 11, 2020. The new government will be presented to King Felipe VI in a ceremony on January 12, 2020. The cabinet's first seating will take place on January 14, 2020. The cabinet will consist of 18 ministers and four Vice Presidents (a/k/a, Deputy Ministers).
