24-seat legislative body (reduced from 33 on October 1, 2019 by ordinance). The body was at first established as the Chamber of Deputies in 1961, then reconstituted as the National Assembly in July 1975, followed by the Federal Assembly, and finally, the Assembly of the Union of the Comoros in 2004.
