Description |
Federal Territory and City administered by the Ministry of Federal Territories. One of three enclaves reorganized by the government as federal territories, the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur is also technically Malaysia's 'National Capital' (as opposed to the "Administrative Capital" of Putrajaya, the third, most recent enclave turned FT).
The 'National Capital' was at one time governed by a 'Federal Capital Commissioner' which became 'Mayor' of the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (KLCH) on February 1, 1972. The 'mayor' also acts as, in effect, the territories' governor.
