| Description |
Governmental body created as a result of negotiations between the Transitional Military Council (TMC), which has ruled Sudan since April 2019, and an opposition alliance known as the Forces of Freedom and Change (FFC), which established itself on January 1, 2019.
The sovereign council is comprised of five members each from the two sides plus a civilian agreed on by both. It will be led by a member of the TMC for 21 months and a member of the FFC for the next 18 until elections are held by 2022.
