| Description |
The President is the nation's Head of State, directly elected for a four-year term (renewable once). The President appoints a Prime Minister and Council of Ministers which must be approved by a parliamentary majority.
The President appoints members of his or her own Administration without need of parliamentary approval. The Administration acts as intermediary between the President's office and the Prime Minister's.
