| Description |
164 seat (enlarged from 149 in 2020) legislative body of the unicameral parliament of Laos. Members serve for five years and are chosen by party vote every five years.
As Laos functions as a one-party state, the National Assembly serves only as a rubber-stamp to the decisions of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, under the umbrella of the Lao Front for National Construction (ແນວລາວສ້າງຊາດ Neo Lao Sang Xat). The Lao Front is chaired by Xaysomphone Phomvihane.
