The City Council consists of one mayor and four Council members. The Mayor is elected for a two-year term and the councilmembers are elected for four-year terms. Local elections are held in November of even-numbered years.
City Council meetings are typically held on the 1st and 3rd Monday of the month at 6:00 PM in the St. Joseph Government Center. Council meetings are open to the public and are aired live on the local cable channel.
