The City of Sturgeon Lake is a Statutory Plan A City that operates under Minnesota Statute 412. All legislative and administrative authority in the city, is provided from the City Council Collectively. The City Council consists of 5 elected officials, one mayor and four councilmembers. Council members are residents of the city they serve.
