Greenwood is a "statutory city" with a weak-mayor / council form of government. Which means the powers of the mayor are not greater than those of any other member of the council, with the exception of the mayor's role as presiding officer at council meetings and several minor duties. The Greenwood city council has five members including the mayor and meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 7pm at the Deephaven Council Chambers at 20225 Cottagewood Road. Meeting dates may change due to holidays, lack of a quorum, etc.
