Preston Manning was chosen leader of the newly-formed Reform Party November 1, 1987 at the organization�s founding convention in Winnipeg, and subsequently the delegates present at each of the following national conventions up to the May 1998 national convention held in London, Ontario, merely ratified their choice. The Reform Party became the Canadian Reform Conservative Alliance in March 2000 under Deborah Grey�s interim leadership.
