InfoPatrick Murphy is a successful business executive and community activist running for City Council on the East Side of Manhattan.

Patrick will be a fulltime Council Member, because our round-the-clock challenges demand hands-on attention seven days a week.

As a college student, Patrick interned in Washington, DC for legendary environmental leader Senator John Chafee, and this experience launched his life-long passion for civic and political activism.

Patrick spent 15 years in the marketing services industry, advising companies such as AT&T, American Express, and Quaker Oats.

Prior to launching his campaign, Patrick was a Vice President and Director at Digitas, a large direct marketing services company.

n 2001 Patrick was selected to participate in Leadership New York, a prestigious civic training program that seeks innovative solutions to urban problems like homelessness, cyclical poverty, and youth-on-youth violence.

He serves on the marketing committee of Jazz at Lincoln Center and helped launch its dramatic new space at Columbus Circle.

Patrick is a member of the Carnegie Hill Neighbors, Civitas, and the Dignity Coalition, which works to protect at-risk youth.

He has raised money for the Nature Conservancy and is a former advisory member of the Miracle House board.

Fighting for Tolerance
Patrick is the past president of the NYC Log Cabin Republicans, the leading voice for tolerance and inclusion in American politics.

As a member of the organization's national board, Patrick worked to defeat the proposed Federal Marriage Amendment, which would have re-written the U.S. Constitution to ban same-sex marriages.

Patrick and his partner, Yann, live in Carnegie Hill.
