Info | Judge Faulkner was elected to her first term as Probate Judge in November 1998. She was re-elected in November 2002. Prior to her election in 1998, she served as Associate Probate Judge for Greenville County for 4 years.
Judge Faulkner graduated with honors from the University of South Carolina. She received her law degree from the USC School of Law in 1982.
As an attorney, Judge Faulkner practiced law in Greenville, SC, for 13 years prior to her judicial service. Her areas of practice were in Probate Court, Family Court, Circuit Court, Federal District Court and the SC Supreme Court. On motion of the Chief Justice of South Carolina, she was admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court.
Judge Faulkner is a member of the Judicial Division of the American Bar Association, the SC Bar Association, and the Greenville County Bar Association. She has been an office holder of the SC Probate Judges Association, serving as Vice President and President. She currently serves as co-chairman of the Legislative Committee for the SC Probate Judges Association. Judge Faulkner serves on the Probate Court Advisory Committee to the Chief Justice of the SC Supreme Court. At the request of Chief Justice Jean Toal, Judge Faulkner serves on the SC Judicial Council and the SC Supreme Court Commission on Judicial Conduct, and the Commission on Alternative Dispute Resolution. Judge Faulkner is a member of the National College of Probate Judges and a graduate of the National Judicial College. She has been published in the Journal of Financial Service Professionals on "Re-defining Probate Court".
In 2001, Greenville County awarded Judge Faulkner and her staff the County's first Customer Service award. In 2002, Probate Court was awarded the honor of Department of the Year. In 2002, Judge Faulkner was awarded the Scales of Justice from the National Association of Legal Staff Professionals for her service to the legal community. She was selected as a member of the 2003 National Register of Who's Who Among Executive Professionals.
Judge Faulkner is a member of Greenville First Baptist Church. She is a graduate of Leadership Greenville Class XXVI and serves on several community boards, including the Rotary Club of Greenville East.
