|Info||Jack Ryan, 44, brings a fresh face to Illinois politics in his bid to succeed retiring Republican Senator Peter Fitzgerald. |
With control of the U.S. Senate at stake, Jack's life experiences and passion for giving back to the community make him the best candidate to keep this seat in Republican hands.
Jack grew up in Wilmette, Illinois, where he attended New Trier High School. After graduating in 1977, Jack attended Dartmouth College, graduating summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. He followed up his undergraduate studies by earning his MBA from Harvard Business School and his law degree, with honors, from Harvard Law.
Jack then went to work for Goldman Sachs as an associate in the investment banking department, enjoying a successful 15 year career in which he made partner before the company went public.
In 2000, Jack left Goldman Sachs to teach at Hales Franciscan High School - an all African-American, all-boys parochial school on the South Side of Chicago. For three years Jack taught classes in U.S. History, English, Law and SAT preparation, during which time 100% of the school's graduating students were accepted to college.
