He is an Imperial Past Potentate and is Imperial Embassador at Large of the Medinah Temple 39 of the Shriners, an organization he has been a member of for 29 years.

Born March 12, 1935, in Mississippi, Rep. Ford graduated from Sumner High School. He currently resides in St. Louis with his wife Ida Hagler Ford. They have five daughters and four sons.
