Prior to being elected to the House, Rep. Wannenmacher was a history, government and economics teacher. Currently, Rep. Wannenmacher is employed by Merrill Lynch as an investment broker and financial consultant in Springfield.
Rep. Wannenmacher is a member of the Central Assembly of God Church, Springfield Business/Education Alliance, Greene County D.W.I. Task Force Committee and American Legislative Exchange Council. He also has been appointed to the American Council of Young Political Leaders.
A 1978 graduate of Hillcrest High School, Rep. Wannenmacher received a bachelor of science degree in education, social sciences and physical education from Evangel College in 1982.
