Info | Alice Woods Baesler and her husband, Scotty, operate a tobacco and cattle farm in Fayette County. Mrs. Baesler is a UK graduate and former public school teacher. She managed the family�s farm while Scotty served as mayor of Lexington and then as a U.S. congressman.
For the past six years Mrs. Baesler worked in the Department of Agriculture with the Ag in the Classroom program, conducting workshops throughout the state to acquaint teachers with the program. She also has played a key role in addressing farm labor issues and in promoting Kentucky farm products. She is a past president of the National Agriculture Women�s Leadership Network and was instrumental in developing the Kentucky Women in Agriculture Conference.
Mrs. Baesler served six years on the Lindsay Wilson College board of trustees and two terms on the UK Alumni Board. She was president of the Fayette County extension council for nine years, was a state secretary for 4-H and has been appointed to various tobacco leadership groups, including the national marketing council that is selected by USDA.
The Baeslers have two children and four grandchildren.
