InfoJ. Alan Allgood was born on August 4, 1960, in Houma, Louisiana where he attended public school. As a young man, he was involved in several extracurricular activities including football, baseball and track.

In 1978, he graduated from Terrebonne High School and enrolled at Nichols State University. After leaving NSU, he went to work for Gulf Island Fabricators, Avondale and McDermott where he was involved in the construction of offshore platforms and jackets. After leaving oilfield construction, he worked for Grasso and Tesoro Petroleum where he managed the Gulf Coast Region for this Fortune 500 company, selling fuel and lubricants to the oil and gas industry.

After assisting the growth of the companies, he started two of his own. The first, Care Medical provided HMO's, PPO's, Medicare, Medicaid and private insurances with home medical equipment. This allowed their patients to recover at home, which cut the cost of hospital stays. Care Medical was later sold to Amedisys, a NASDAQ listed company. Allgood currently owns Gator Computer Solutions, where he employs technicians to manufacture and repair computers. In addition, the company installs cable and wireless networking products in the Greater New Orleans area, with additional customers in Houston and Dallas.

Alan Allgood's decision to run for Governor of Louisiana was not taken lightly. This has been something that he has thought about doing since he was in his twenties. It is only now that he feels the timing is right. Allgood can do a terrific job for our state. Louisiana has always elected a Democrat as Governor after each reform Governor has completed his term(s). Now is the time for an aggressive young Republican to take over and bring Louisiana to the next level.
