InfoCONNERY, William Patrick, Jr., (brother of Lawrence Joseph Connery), a Representative from Massachusetts; born in Lynn, Mass., August 24, 1888; attended St. Mary's School at Lynn, Montreal College in Canada 1902-1904, and Holy Cross College, Worcester, Mass., 1904-1908; entered the theatrical profession as an actor 1908-1916; engaged as a theater manager in 1916 and 1917; during the First World War enlisted as a private in the One Hundred and First Regiment, United States Infantry, and served nineteen months in France; electric company employee 1919-1921; engaged in the manufacture of candy in 1921; secretary to the mayor of Lynn from January 1, 1922, to February 25, 1923; elected as a Democrat to the Sixty-eighth and to the seven succeeding Congresses and served from March 4, 1923, until his death; chairman, Committee on Labor (Seventy-second through Seventy-fifth Congresses); studied law; was admitted to the bar October 10, 1934, but did not practice extensively; died in Washington, D.C., June 15, 1937; interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Lynn, Mass.
