As the first staffer ever hired to run this 45-year old corporate family foundation, Cheryl has created grantmaking and programmatic opportunities to improve the quality of life in Montgomery County and the Greater Washington Area. Prior to running the Foundation, Cheryl's career in public service has spanned over two decades.

Cheryl C. Kagan served in the Maryland House of Delegates for eight years, representing Maryland's 17th Legislative District (Rockville, Gaithersburg, and Garrett Park). First elected in November of 1994, she was reelected for another four-year term in November of 1998. In April 2002, she announced that she would not be seeking reelection.
