Johnny Isakson is a businessman, public servant and family man. Johnny was President of Northside Realty for 22 years, helping to build it into the 37th largest residential brokerage company in America. Johnny was elected to the Georgia House of Representatives in 1976, and served 7 terms, 4 as Minority Leader. He was the Republican nominee for Governor in 1990, and was elected to the Georgia Senate, serving 2 terms before being appointed Chairman of the Georgia Board of Education in 1996. On February 23rd, 1999, Johnny was elected to the United States Congress in a special election to replace former Speaker Newt Gingrich. Reelected in November of 2000, Johnny serves on the Transportation Committee and the Education and Workforce Committee. He is Vice Chairman of the Subcommittee on 21st Century Competitiveness. Johnny and his wife Dianne have three children - John, Julie, and Kevin, and attend Mt. Zion United Methodist Church where Johnny has taught sixth grade Sunday school since 1978.
