Jim Sauro is a native of Vineland who has been married to his wife Susan for 43 years. They raised their three children in Vineland. Jim now enjoys spending time with his 6 grandsons.



Jim attended Vineland High School class of 1972 as well as Cumberland County College where he studied Business Management in 1980. He also attended Cape May County Vocational-Technical School for blueprint interpretation and welding in 1982. He received high honors while attending Gloucester County College for his Water Treatment licenses in 2004. Currently Jim is a Sub-Code Official/Plumbing Inspector in Washington Township.



He is no stranger to Cumberland County Government having service on the County Commissioner Board (County Freeholder Board) in the early 2000s. He served as Director for one year. As a business owner of a Plumbing HVAC and Water treatment business, Jim was involved with legislation to help other small businesses in the region.



While working in construction and raising his family, Jim was very active in his community and always endeavored to help those in need. Besides coaching soccer and sponsoring neighborhood teams, he also was active in his church in organizing breakfasts and dinners for seniors in Cumberland County.



His philanthropy and volunteerism reached outside the area when he organized a group of plumbers to travel to Missouri during the floods of 1993. He subsequently received numerous citations including The Pride of Vineland Award and The Chapel of the Four Chaplains award for his efforts. Jim and his wife are ongoing supporters of Special Olympics NJ.

Jim Sauro made the decision to return to county government as a team member to provide the leadership Cumberland County needs to continue a path of improvement and prosperity. His experience in government policy and procedures and his deep belief that Cumberland County is on the cusp of greatness once again are the reasons he has returned as a candidate.
