InfoPoliticians claim that British Columbia has a great economy.

What are the sectors that have brought us the economic boom ? The answers are always forestry, natural resources, etc.. These answers are a little bit old fashioned and only partially correct. We have so much unexplored human resources and ideas from all parts of the world ! The hidden truth is – poverty, under employment and all kinds of social problems !

The days of selling non-renewable resources in exchange for hard cash has gone. Industries need new generation of skilled staff. British Columbians must face the challenges to compete with the rest of the world. We need a long term vision that British Columbia can enter a new world economy.

British Columbians have to find new ideas with their creativity. Better education, positive mindset, lower taxation, affordable housing will all contribute to a futuristic optimism. “Poverty in the midst of plenty” in our society must be addressed with constructive solutions, not just quick fixes and patches. To achieve this goal, vote for a positive individual that will listen to your concerns, understands British Columbia as a whole and a commitment to help !

Local Issues

· Transportation – the rapid transit is a vital link, but it only stop short as a “vapour link” for this riding, We need it now, no if, and, or, but…

· Poverty – volunteer groups have worked so hard in this riding for the homeless, under-employed and the needy, this is just a patch. The Provincial Government must take positive action to return the able bodies to work and utilize our precious human resources.

· Environmental Issues – the urban sprawl in the Lower Mainland since the 1980’s has imposed so much impact on this rural – urban continuum riding, our land and water must be protected.
